How to care for your luxury watch
Simple habits that protect the finish, the movement, and the watch you reach for every day.

Care is part of owning well
A luxury watch rewards attention. You do not need a complicated routine. A few habits protect the case, crystal, strap, and movement over years of wear.
At ElShaboury, we see the difference between watches that are worn thoughtfully and those left to accumulate damage. Small choices compound.
Daily handling
Put the watch on after applying perfume, lotion, or sunscreen. Chemicals can dull finishes and dry out leather faster than daily wear alone.
Wipe the case and crystal gently with a soft, dry cloth at the end of the day. Avoid paper towels or rough fabrics that can micro-scratch polished surfaces.
Water, shocks, and magnets
Respect the water-resistance rating of your model. Rinse with fresh water only when the maker guidance allows it, and never operate the crown underwater unless designed for that use.
Keep strong magnets and hard knocks away from the watch when you can. Sudden impacts and magnetic fields are common quiet causes of timing issues.
Storage between wears
Store the watch in a clean, dry place such as a soft pouch, a watch box, or a dedicated organizer. Avoid leaving it in direct sun, a humid bathroom, or a cluttered drawer.
If you own several pieces, rotate them. Giving a mechanical watch rest is normal; if you have a winder, use it only as the maker recommends for that movement.
When to ask for service
Fog under the crystal, a crown that feels loose, a strap that is splitting, or timing that drifts noticeably are signs to seek help rather than wait.
